What is Competition Obedience?
Competition Obedience is a sport where a dog and handler participate in Obedience Trials to demonstrate the team’s ability to follow specified exercise routines in the ring. All participants follow the same routine, and are required to perform the exercises according to specific judging criteria so the various performances may be compared against a standard and then scored.
TCKC offers a variety of Competition Obedience Classes. The classes offered will include two basic formats. The first type will focus on learning the various components needed to build exercises, while the second type will focus on full exercises and ring readiness.
Please check the class descriptions for skills required to participate in each class. Since not all classes will be offered each session, please check the schedule for class availability.
